With only 10 weeks until scallop fever hits the Coromandel, the programme is starting to heat up.....

Worlds Best Scallop Recipe...

For the last few months you have had the opportunity to submit your 'Worlds Best Scallop Recipe' in the hope of landing a spot on stage at the festival and a cook off to win either ,  a  pizza oven from Pizzadoma, a helicopter ride with Coromandel Helicopters or a Coromandel Homegrown hamper.

All recipes have been placed on the blog site and are currently being voted on.

Entries are still open and you have up until the 31st July to register. So if you haven't yet submitted your entry, visit the website and register now.  Once registered you will need to get all your friends and family to go online and like your recipe, the three with the most 'likes' will proceed to the next round.

Scallops, Scallops & more Scallops

The highlight of the festival sees almost  60 cuisine stands – manned by a mix of local producers, chefs, restaurants and community groups - serving up scallops in a purpose built village on the waters edge.

Award winning Cathedral Cove Macadamias will be back serving the legendary Macadamia Crumbed Scallops along with a new dish of Scallop & Macadamia Pesto Crostini.

First timers to the festival, Maldito Mendez will be dishing up Poached Scallops, Lime, Chili and Coriander with Blood Orange & Watercress Salad, while loyal festival fans, Salt Restaurant will be offering Tempura Scallops with Lime Aoili

The Mercury Bay Area School will have their ever popular Scallops Sauteed in Garlic and Wine and Samiarti Woodfired Pizza will be offering Mozarella Cheese, Scallops, Lime & Parmiggiano Cheese Pizza.

For those who want to try something other than scallops, don't worry,  you too have been catered for. From Lobsters , Paua and Whitebait to Ostrich Meatballs, Venison  Burgers and good old Kiwi Hangi... its all been catered for.

Now lets not forget the best way of washing down all those succulent  scallops is with a mouthful of either Mills Reef wine or  Monteiths beer and cider.

Vote and Win...

As part of this years public vote, where you are given the opportunity to vote for your best stands, best dish and best community stand, we're pleased to announce that one lucky festival attendee will win a Merucy Bay Scenic Flight with Coromandel Helicopters..

Drop your voting card into a voting booth at the festival to be in the draw.
